We are proud to announce the first beta release of the upcoming VLOS 2.0 livecd, read the changelog for more information and please don't forget to donate:

• Nvidia drivers now automatically detected and configured
• Ati drivers now automatically detected and configured
• Kernel sources now installed by default
• VLOS now mounts NTFS drives automatically
• Compiz enabled when 3D card is available
• Updated to kernel 2.6.32
• Flash and Java plugins now installed by default
• Gwibber Twitter Client installed by default
• Pitivi Video Editor installed by default
• OpenOffice installed by default
• Wine installed by default
• Hulu Desktop installed by default
• Sync your Ipod touch and Ipod 3Gs with latest Gtkpod + Ifuse
• Instant messengers Skype, Emesene, Empathy or Pidgin
• Manage your photos with F-spot
• Inkscape now installed by default
• Gimp now installed by default

And many other packages that will be added during the beta period

Requirements

Minimum requirements:

i686 Processor (Intel or AMD i686 compatible processors)
256Mb RAM
8 GB of free space
X.Org supported 2D GPU
DVD reader

Optimal requirements:

Dual Core Processor (Intel or AMD dual core or better compatible processors)
1024Mb RAM
20 GB or more of free space
X.Org supported 3D GPU
DVD reader

Known issues

You are encouraged to test and comment on this beta-release. Feedback should be posted in the form of bug reports to our forums.

• When using Automatic partition on installer grub doesn't setup correctly
• Couple of errors messages at boot
• Binary mirrors not fully loaded with packages
• MIME Types, File associations not configured correctly in gnome and firefox
• Users cannot update or upgrade using Sulfur, because mirrors doesn't contain packages "this will be available in our next beta"
